It is with profound sense of loss that the family announces the passing of Peter Vanos of Delaware on August 1st, 2016 in his 89th year. Beloved husband of Nellie (nee Roks) for 63 years. He leaves behind his children; John (Mary), Joyce Feher (John), Harriet VanderBurgt (John), Audrey Wong, Teresa Hopkinson (Ted) and James (Maria). "Opa" was loved by his grandchildren; Matt, Carrie, and Leah; Johanna and Jessica; Natalie, Nick and Josh; Alex, Daniel and Lucas; Ben, Julia and Sam; Janelle, Clayton, and Chelsey. Opa had eight great grandchildren. He is survived by Bill Vanos, Annie Vanderschoot, Harry and Wilma Vanos, Ted and Mary Vanos, Nancy Boere, Anny Vanos, Bep Vanos, John and Lenie Roks, Rita Roks, Albert VanHerk, Betty and Henk DeBrouwer, Marian Roks and Jo Marchant and Frank Roks. Predeased by siblings, Tony Vanos, John Vanos, Diny Beernink, Martin Vanos, and in-laws Johanna Vanos, John Vanderschoot, Harry Beernink, Jim Boere, Irma Manning, Johanna Roks, Peter Roks and Jenny VanHerk. Beloved Uncle of many nieces and nephews. Peter emigrated from Holland in 1948 was Founder of Vanos Insulation and a lifetime member of the Delaware Lions Club. Pete was an avid golfer and tennis player. Wintering 27 years in the Sweetwater community in Florida. Friends will be received by the family at the Delaware Community Centre ( 2652 Gideon Drive, Delaware) on Thursday August 4th from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm. A Lions service under the direction of the Delaware Lions Club will be held on Thursday evening commencing at 6:30pm. Funeral Mass to be celebrated from the Sacred Heart Parish , Delaware on Friday commencing at 11am with Father Matthew Bedard officiating. Cremation to follow with Interment Sacred Heart In the Fields at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
